Olivia Outlund, MSW, LMSW,
Clinical Social worker
Hi, I’m Olivia!
I’m a Licensed Master Social Worker who received my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Iowa in 2022. I had the pleasure of interning as a mental health counselor at Kirkwood Community College Counseling Services in my final year of graduate school; there I counseled individuals on adjustment issues, anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflicts, grief, and various other mental health concerns. I am also certified in suicide intervention by Living Works and rape victim advocacy by RVAP. In addition to my work, I love animals, live performances, reading, and baking treats for others!
My Approach to Therapy
My practice is based on the belief that everyone should have access to a trained counselor who greets them with unconditional positive regard and creates a nonjudgmental space to collaborate. I aim to empower you to grow while working toward your goals and build upon the resilience and strengths you have already cultivated throughout your life. In our collaboration, I see you as the expert on your life, whereas I bring knowledge of evidence-based tools that provide you with techniques to enhance insight, self-awareness, and coping strategies concerning your therapeutic goals.
My work up to this point has been a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and interventions that incorporate deep breathing, mindfulness, movement, and nervous system regulation. I am currently working toward my goal to become certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.

The lotus flower represents our ability for transformation. One of the most beautiful flowers, its roots can only grow from the mud, with its petals opening one by one.
Working with Megan has been so helpful. She’s patient and encouraging. She is not only accepting but has helped me accept myself. So lucky to have found her!
